It's just not the same

I can't help it--I think it is a shame that Bonds has broken Hank Aaron's record! We'll never know (and he'll never know) if he could have done it by talent alone without the help of peformance enhancing drugs. And yes, I know the arguments about all the other improvements in sports equipment, etc. that changes things for athletes but I don't think drugs are in the same category. And now records created by two men who made them based solely on their athletic ability have been broken by a man whose ability needs enhancement. Perhaps he could have done it on his own, but we'll never know.

In my mind, he just isn't in the same league as Babe and Hank!

I would much rather someone else break it or Hank keep the record. Too many questions surrounding Barry. Although, innocent until proven guilty.

I remember following Hank Aaron and watching him break the record in 4th grade. All speculation aside, I'm grateful that the class act that is Hank Aaron was able to keep his record as long as he did. Neither Babe Ruth or Barry Bonds could touch him in the all-aroung good guy category.

'around' not 'aroung'

I think Babe Ruth deserved extra credit for setting his record in spite of his appetite for performance diminishing substances!

Imagine what he could have done without the alcohol. I actually heard someone try to use the argument that Babe Ruth and Bonds were alike that way. The other panelist said, "I don't think alcohol would enhance his game."

IMO, it would enhance his performance...but only in his mind.

Alcohol? Don't forget the women and food, both of which he also supposedly partook of with abandon.

Okay! Okay! I take back what I said about Babe Ruth. However, Hank Aaron was a class act!
