or as I heard it as a young child "killing me softly with exxon" Like the original, I felt that way about Don McLean especially when he sang "Vincent's Song." Pink Floyd resonated with me as a young adult with "The Wall" but it wasn't until Rich Mullins that someone else really spoke my thoughts. And recently Todd Agnew has come close. So check him out at his website.
Rich Mullins was the man... especially his later stuff right before his tragic accident. The "Christian" music industry has yet to fully fill the hole left by his death. I miss him a lot. He reminds me of a Donald Miller of song, calling us beyond our understandings to the ragged edge of Christianity where he felt so comfortable.
Rich Mullins was THE Man. I loved his theology and his raggamuffin ways. And while I know Awesome God is his most popular song, The Jesus Record (the entire thing!) and Sometimes by Step trully did feel like he was singing my life.
