If you are concerned about the Golden Compass . . .

Check out this very good article from Christianity Today.

The author makes many good observations, but I think his best comment is this:
The best way to make Pullman's stories look like gospel truth is to respond by acting like the villainous Christians in his stories. The best way to expose Pullman's lie is to respond like Christ himself: With grace and truth, not wrath and condemnation.

Having read the book, I feel that the Christianity Today artilce gives an accurate account of the book as well as how it should be approached. Thanks so much for sharing.

I decided not to "react" at all. Im just not going to see the movie or read his books. I guess athiests will do whatever they can to get their beliefs out in the world just as christians will do whatever they can to get their beliefs out there.

im sure christians who go out and buy his books or pay to see the movies are reacting just like he wants them to... and he is probably sitting back smiling.

I am not concerned...at all actually. I tried to read the book because I am a fan of juvenile lit. and came away bored frankly. I did not care about the characters or what happened to them.

So, not scared, just bored.
